Supplier Vetting Process

Indock vets raw material suppliers through a defined process: we confirm registration, review certifications, check reference orders, audit where warranted, and test samples against your specification before a supplier reaches your shortlist. The result is that you only see suppliers we have already qualified, not an open marketplace.

The vetting steps

  1. Registration check: confirm the supplier is a real, registered business with a verifiable trading history.
  2. Certifications: review relevant quality and compliance certifications for the material and market.
  3. Reference orders: check track record on comparable orders, so capability is demonstrated, not just claimed.
  4. Audits: conduct or review audits where the material or volume warrants closer scrutiny.
  5. Sample testing: test material against your specification, where appropriate, before you commit.

Vetting is ongoing, not one-time

Qualifying a supplier is the start, not the end. We continue confirming documentation per shipment, so each lot is checked rather than assumed. See certificate of analysis and documentation for what we verify on every order.

From vetting to a quote

Once a supplier is qualified, we return them with transparent landed pricing so you can decide on a like-for-like basis. For a practical checklist you can apply yourself, see how to vet raw material suppliers.
